TOURISTS: avoid silk market. It is a total rip off. Go to the pearl market at tiantandongnen (line 5) all the same stuff, people are much friendlier and prices are 70% cheaper. Beijing expats do not go to silk market as it is overpriced and the people are

British immigrant to Beijing of 5 years.
